Kia ora e te whānau,
We wanted to check in and say we have been working throughout lockdown on our storytelling project, writing and planning our mahi moving forward.
We have already had so many inspiring stories of self defined success from our whānau, all of whom have lived experience with the justice system, as well as addiction and/or mental health distress.
We will keep on with the project throughout all levels to ensure we are working towards envisioning a justice system, which is focused on what does work as opposed to just locking people up because we know this is failing us big time!
We will be however be taking a break from face to face interviews and will let you know when these can be resumed.
It has been a true privilege to work with our whānau participants on the He Ture Kia Tika project and our rōpū would like to wish all our followers the very best during this challenging time.
